The dirty side of glamour

I love Taylor Shield's photography, most famous for his portrait shots of celebrities...I think he captures a moment brilliantly.  Check out his website http://www.tylershields.com/
Here are some of my favourites.....

Exit Through The Giftshop

So today I watched the Banksy film "Exit Through The Gift Shop" in my university class.  I personally thought it was amazing and would recommend everyone to watch it.  everyones come across a Banksy at some point and wonders who the man behind the genius artwork is.  This is a film that delves into the secret unknown world of street art and shows how other people can manipulate this world into making fame and money.  Although you don't see Banksy himself, we hear interviews with a shadowed face and also get to see his studio, and the ways and means in which he manages to instalate some of his most controversial exhibits.  And although I didn't see the face of the acclaimed artists, I still managed to develop a bit of a crush on him, a story about someone with that much drive and ambition who had no intention of making as much wealth and media extravagance as he did, who wanted only to make a statement, what a dreamboat....here's the trailer and some of Banksy's work.

what a fann-tastic family

First we have Dakota...loved her from the moment she graced our screens especially in I am sam and Coraline, she dissapeared for a while, then came back with a vengance as she laned a role in the new twilight movies.  She came back looking strikingly grown up, and featured in many of our favourite magazines.  She is a raw young talent and I can't wait to see more of her.  Here are some of my favourite images from her teen vogue shoot, and vogue Italia shoot.

But one talented fanning was not enough, we've recently been introduced to her younger sister Elle Fanning, dazzling us with her performances in a curious case of benjamin button and somewhere. She has also starred in the nowness short film "The curve of forgotten things" a collaboration between photographer/filmaker Todd Cole, Deerhunter and Rodarte.  The film is wonderfully directed and is lovely to watch.  Both siblings are unbelievably talented, and act far superior to their young ages.  Here is the nowness video alongside some images from December of last years issue of Jalouse where Elle appeared on the front cover.

NO WORDS NEEDED

PURE SEX

A good friend of mine showed me picture number 5 (http://alicameron.tumblr.com/)....being a hugeeeee Joseph Gordan Levitt fan I followed up the rest of the fashion story.  HELLO. Possibly one of my favourite GQ spreads ever.....although I'm clearly biased as I could stare at Joseph all day.  Intended to show the versatility of the modern tie....Joseph Certainly makes it look good, and credit where credits due Claudia doesn't look so bad herself.

Similarly Helena Christensen and Ed Westwick took part in a raunchy Harpers Bazaar shoot in 2009.  Shot by Terry Richardson, it's once again supremely hot.  I'm hoping I'm going to look this good when I'm in my 40's!

Jourdans Dunn it!

Big Congratulations to Jourdan Dunn for landing the job as the face of Burberry.  She was spotted in my local Primark store in Hammersmith and has gone on to be a huge name within the industry.   I don't want to mention the fact that she's one of the only successful black models out there at the moment because I'd like to think it's not neccessary, but apparently it is, she was the first black model to appear in a Prada show for over ten years.  Let's hope this paves the way for future black models as Jourdans certainly doing an amazing job. I've posted the new Burberry pictures and also some other favourites.....
